WOODBORING INSECTS

Woodworm is a commonly used generic term for a number of wood boring insects that attack both hardwoods and softwoods.

The eggs are laid on or in timber and their lifecycle from egg to beetle can vary from approximately 10 months to 11 years.

The most common beetle attack is from the common furniture beetle which accounts for about 75% of infestations of properties.

Woodboring Weevil [Euophryum confine]

Bark Borer Beetle [Ernobius mollis]
